When Bacon product producer, Direct Table Foods, needed to renew its fork lift truck fleet following a fire at its plant, the company turned to Impact Handling. The £180,000 contract comprises of the supply of 12 counterbalance trucks, reach trucks and powered pallet trucks as well as all servicing and maintenance. Direct Table Foods produces bacon products for the UK retail, foodservice and manufacturing markets from sites at Bury St Edmunds in Suffolk and Cuffley in Hertfordshire. "We have worked with Impact Handling at our other sites, so were very happy for them to supply and service a replacement fleet to our new plant at Bury St Edmunds," explained Andy Flack, head of research and development for Direct Table. "We have now made Impact Handling our sole supplier of forklift trucks. Its business approach reflects our own commitment to delivering leading products and excellent customer service." Terry Kendrew, managing director of Impact Handling, said: "Our expanded partnership with Direct Table Foods reinforces our base of major customers in the eastern region. Impact Handling is about providing a personal, local service in an industry in which consolidation and depersonalisation is increasingly the norm." |
